Pythagoras The Musical is a single decoction Helles lager brewed exclusively with German pilsner Malt and American Noble Hops (Delta) brought to us by Hopsteiner Hops. This is our first beer made using the historical decoction method of boiling a portion of the mash in order to extract deeper malt character to go with its crisp and dry body. The result is a fantastically quaffable lager that is both bright and full, with a dry zippy finish.

In August, in collaboration with the NYC Homebrewers Guild, we produced a volume of fermentable wort to share with local homebrewers in order to create inspired beers at home. With the remaining wort, we fermented this delightfully vibrant saison in house! This 6.9% ABV saison style ale is brewed with pilsner malt, two row malt, wheat and oat malts for a straw gold color and a light bright body. It's spice and fruity aromas and flavor come primarily from the farmhouse yeast used to ferment it. For extra zip and vibrancy, we lightly dry-hopped with New Zealand Motueka Hops, bringing zesty citrus aroma qualities of lime and lemon atop an already complex and spicy bouquet that emotes pink peppercorn and light clove.
